About

Managing the impacts of cannabis in the workplace is one of the biggest challenges faced by most employers. It’s a well-known fact within our industry. What isn’t as well known is how to customize a drug testing program to help employers manage workplace health and safety and address the expanding trend of pervasive use. We all know that navigating the federal and state regulations in this context is a struggle, to the point that many employers have “given up” – thrown their hands in the air – and removed cannabis from their testing panel. After more than 5 years of legalization in Canada, testing trends have evolved to a practical and workable approach that enables employers to meet their due diligence for safety, and respect employee rights regarding legalization, and adult and medical use of cannabis. This session presents a practical approach to managing testing for cannabis, including both saliva and urine testing, applicable to US DOT and non-US DOT employment situations. The information provided will enable you to position yourself as a leader in your field and a knowledgeable resource for “what to do when.” Learn the “what”, the “why” and the “how” to implement a testing regime that supports employers in addressing this multi-faceted and expanding challenge.
