Why are you interested in this organization?
The Drug and Alcohol industry should have equal representation on its Board of Directors. Too often the collector is overlooked. Not only do I bring their voice, but the voices of all involved in our drug testing industry to this board with my range of experience. Advocating for change, our moniker should be the “forefront gatekeeper,” not the “weakest link” of the process. My passion for this industry began as collector and still resonates as such, giving voice to the struggles of those on the front line within this fluid environment of drug and alcohol screening.
Relevant experience to serving on this Board:
I have served on two boards related to the Drug and Alcohol industry: DATIA and NDASA.
Please describe industry-related knowledge, interests, length of time and expertise that you possess which could benefit the National Drug & Alcohol Screening Association:
My introduction into the drug and alcohol screening industry began as an entry level, on-site urine/breath alcohol collector in 2002 after several years in the Department of Corrections D&A abatement program. Becoming a lead instructor in 2008 and then taking over the role of Consortium Administrator in 2009 with my mother’s retirement. Over the two plus decades of service, I have continued to expand my knowledge within the Drug and Alcohol industry to CPCT U/OF trainer, CMRO-A, C/TPA in a globe hospital system, Subject Matter Expert speaker, Supervisor trainer, Provisional Instructor and Calibration Tech for Breath Alcohol testing, Executive Board Member of DATIA, and current Board of Directors member with NDASA.
Please tell us about your committee involvement with NDASA, including which committee(s) you serve on currently and your role(s):
I have been an active member of multiple committees and currently Co-chair the mentorship committee with Dean Klassy. We have been working with the former Chair to ensure there is smooth transition and doing our best to promote the ultimate guides with various webinars, thus generating revenue for the organization. I am active in the Training and Certification committee, taking part in the various training events either as a participant to further my own knowledge, but also being a presenter/instructor multiple times over the 20+ year in the industry. |

Area(s) of expertise/Contribution you feel you can make:
I have dedicated my career to the mentoring of clients, collectors, and all fellow members to help them meet the Federal mandates. Being at the center of the most advanced modifications since the inception of Federal Mandated testing and being part of this amazing organization during these cutting-edge events has helped me support and ensure all voices are heard. I believe with my experience that an opportunity to serve on the board would not only be an honor, but I would be helping this organization ensure its mission and goals are met going to into the future.
