Please describe industry-related knowledge, interests, length of time and expertise that you possess which could benefit the National Drug & Alcohol Screening Association:

I have been working in the drug and alcohol testing industry since 2004. I started as a breath alcohol technician, calibration technician, and urine collector for NRC. Shortly thereafter, I became the supervising laboratory technician and trainer for an average of 20 collectors with oversite of 5 onsite laboratories. I additionally became qualified to perform breath and urine collections, as well as to train collectors, for DOT regulated testing. I continued in these roles through February of 2014, when I took a position as a program manager for a DOT regulated utility company. Since 2014, I have been functioning as a DER / program manager with employees that are covered under FMCSA and PHMSA regulations. I also perform governance and oversite of the DERs and programs for my company's 3 sister utilities. Throughout this time, I have continued as a collector and trainer and added STT qualification in 2020. I became a CSAPA in 2022 and was elected to the board of CCDAPP in 2024. I completed the DOT Oral Fluid trainer course in 2024 (with mock collections scheduled for January 2025). Along with my federally regulated testing experience, I have also been overseeing several NON-DOT drug and alcohol testing programs since 2014. I have become a subject matter expert in state drug testing laws, particularly around marijuana. The company that I oversee has operations in several states. Since 2014, I have also been responsible for writing and revising drug and alcohol policies and procedures, along with developing and delivering DOT employee education and reasonable suspicion training. I have extensive experience with testifying at arbitrations, depositions, and trials related to drug and alcohol testing. I completed both the NDASA Accredited Designated Employer Representative (DER) and Collection Site Accreditation in 2024. Additionally, I will be completing a master's degree in human resources and Employment Relations in March 2025, with certificates in labor and collective bargaining, labor and employment law, and strategic human resources and workplace ethics.
