Why are you interested in this organization? I have more than 30 years of experience in the drug and alcohol testing industry and remain deeply passionate about its mission and impact. I believe the ongoing legalization of cannabis is transforming nearly every aspect of our work, presenting both challenges and opportunities. I am particularly motivated to contribute to an organization that is at the forefront of addressing these changes— minimizing the negative impacts of legislative shifts while championing innovative ideas, technologies, and thought leadership. Together, we can expand our ability to deter drug and alcohol misuse, not only in the workplace but across various industries.

Relevant experience: DATIA board 2016 & 2022-23. Scientific Advisory Board, Impairment Science Inc., Board of Directors, Neopharma Technologies. Speaking engagements, podcasts and interviews supporting the industry and its usefulness to workplace and safety. I am active in the education in the industry and volunteer a monthly article on drug testing innovation in The Background Buzz Magazine. I routinely present at industry conferences including The National Interdisciplinary Cannabis Conference, SAPAA, National Safety Council, SHRM Annual Conference, PBSA Annual Conference and SHRM chapter conferences.

Please describe industry-related knowledge, interests, length of time and expertise that you possess which could benefit the National Drug & Alcohol Screening Association: I bring more than 22 years of experience across all aspects of TPA/CRA operations, including policy and product development, product launches, operations, and technology. I was a principal contributor in establishing the first national SUD SAP/Employee Assistance network, designed to support recovery centric workplaces. In addition, I have spent over 10 years as an industry consultant, working with providers to uphold and exceed best-in-industry standards in operations and education. My executive leadership roles in four organizations have focused on fostering collaborative excellence in drug and alcohol testing standards, ensuring innovative and effective approaches to addressing substance use in the workplace. This extensive background equips me with a deep understanding of the industry, a passion for advancing its standards, and the expertise to contribute meaningfully to the National Drug & Alcohol Screening Association. 

Please tell us about your committee involvement with NDASA, including which committee(s) you serve on currently and your role(s): I am a participant in the Government Relations Committee at NDASA, attend and usually speak at the annual conference and offer my perspective to memebrs of the Board when I believe it is both relevant and important to the membership and the association.

Area(s) of expertise/Contribution you feel you can make: I bring expertise and a proven track record in several key areas that align closely with NDASA's mission and goals: 

Legislative Influence and Advocacy: I have extensive experience in navigating legislative landscapes, particularly in supporting cannabis and testing reform. My focus is on promoting balanced policies that protect workplace safety while adapting to evolving legal frameworks. I can assist in crafting strategic initiatives and advocacy efforts that ensure the industry remains proactive and well-positioned. 

Technology and Partnership Assessments: With a strong background in evaluating emerging technologies and forging strategic partnerships, I can provide insights to identify innovative tools, platforms, and collaborations that drive operational excellence and growth for NDASA. 

Material and Product Review: Leveraging my industry knowledge, I can review and provide feedback on materials, products, and initiatives associated with NDASA. This ensures that resources remain relevant, high-quality, and aligned with the organization's goals. 

Strategic Consultation with Leadership: I am well-versed in supporting and collaborating with leadership teams to achieve organizational objectives. I can work closely with the Chairperson and fellow board members to consult on goals, priorities, and initiatives that advance NDASA’s influence, thought leadership, and impact in the industry. 

Industry Advancement and Innovation: My passion lies in driving the evolution of the drug and alcohol testing industry. I aim to contribute by supporting initiatives that uphold best practices, foster innovation, and promote a forward-thinking approach to the challenges and opportunities facing the industry today.
