Mary Ellen Hines
Mary has worked in the drug and alcohol testing field since the Drug Free Workplace Act was passed in 1988 and was instrumental in training and setting up collection sites to help clients comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation mandated drug testing program. She is currently the owner of SimplePath, providing drug and alcohol program consultation and a variety of training classes and products. Previously, she served as a private contractor to the Union Pacific Railroad drug testing program, an associate vice president for EMSI - a national occupational health provider - and a national consultant and trainer for WPCI, a leading drug program administrator. Mary was an owner of SecurScreen LLC, based in North Dakota with offices in Minot, Williston, Watford City and Sidney, Montana, offering in-office and mobile collection throughout the BAKKEN Oil Field during the oil boom. She also owned AmeriTest, an oil well equipment testing company.
Mary is a national trainer for Lifeloc, a leading manufacturer of alcohol-testing equipment. She conducts equipment training and Breath Alcohol Technician training programs and has been a Lifeloc equipment distributor since 2002. She currently serves as chair of NDASA’s Membership Development committee and is a past president and board member of the Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPAA). She is also an instructor for the SAPAA Training Institute and routinely teaches a large variety of courses which include: Collection Personnel Training Course for Instructors, Basic Urine Collector, Drug Testing Audit Procedures, Breath Alcohol Technician and Supervisor Drug and Alcohol Awareness programs. Most recently, Mary was contracted to audit several large companies’ drug and alcohol programs. Mary holds a CSAPA certification in addition to her Master Lifeloc BAT instructor, and CPTC Instructor certifications. She currently resides in the Dallas area.
